Learn about the lives you’re impacting through BCWSA
Since 1971, BC Wheelchair Sports (BCWSA) has helped people with physical disabilities across the province lead active, healthy lives through wheelchair sports. The organization is committed to being a strong advocate for athletes with a disability and working to reduce barriers to participation.
BCWSA administers wheelchair rugby, wheelchair athletics (track and field), and wheelchair tennis. As athletes progress, they have access to wheelchair loans, as well as programs for beginners, juniors, recreational athletes and high-performance athletes. BCWSA supports the many coaches, support staff, and volunteers who are so vital to our sports.
BCWSA is proud to host wheelchair sport competitions from the recreational to the high-performance level. These competitions include the Canada Cup International Wheelchair Rugby Tournament and the Vancouver International Wheelchair Tennis Tournament. In 2018, BCWSA is very excited to host Push4Impact, an inaugural fundraiser event. Through Push4Impact the organization is now offering the opportunity for the greater community to experience the sport of wheelchair rugby for themselves.
BCWSA is the leading organization fostering community and individual excellence through wheelchair sports. Funds raised through Push4Impact will assist BCWSA in fulfilling their mission of providing exceptional wheelchair sport programs and services to build community and promote active living to people with a physical disability in British Columbia.
